Eddie our MD has been busy in Chop’d HQ creating two new spring specials for you to enjoy, he has traveled across the UK looking for new recipes and has created two new wonderful salads.

To celebrate the wonderful season of the rare salty samphire plant, from the Norfolk coast we have:

Seared Tuna, Samphire & Jersey Royal Salad.
The jersey royal potatoes are seasonal so gorge them while you can. As well as having many nutritional benefits such as low in fat, high in vitamin B and C; not to mention they have a grand taste. Did you know that the Jersey royal potatoes are protected by Protected Designation of Origin, just like only real Parma ham can come from Parma.

and

Line and Pole Smoked Tuna & Slow Roasted Chorizo

Our tuna is traditionally fished using a line and pole method which is sustainable, the fish are less stressed when caught which leads to a better quality of tuna for you to enjoy. The tuna that we use is from the Indian ocean and is the same tuna that is used for sushi and sashimi in Londons top restaurants. The tail end is used which is trimmed then cut into a 3 cm cube. It is seared in a very hot pan with a little pepper and olive oil so leaving it pink in the middle, which we believe is the nicest way to serve fresh tuna; we then slice it in our shops to make the 2 new specials. Mixed with spicy traditional roasted chorizo, the salad really gives you a taste of summer!

Hello everyone,

Since the start of 2012 we have been promoting healthy eating with the aid of our tips and lunch recommendations.

However the end of the month is fast approaching and everyone is beginning to forget their new year resolution’s.

We need to ‘keep motivated’ and this can be done by sticking to a healthy lifestyle and promoting responsible eating. With the aid of our friends at Movement 3 studio we can bring you the latest articles and clear up any myths you have about healthy eating or working out.
The first month is always easy when stopping anything; it is the month afterwards when temptation becomes a factor.

Good morning,

Beleive it or not today is ‘National Peanut Butter Day’ to brighten up this miserable january day why not pop down to us and pick up our lovely warming Chicken Satay Soup, which contains natural peanut butter. Pick the soup from the fridge and we recommend it with a warmimg spicy coconut Tom Yum Thai broth which we will add at the till.

This high protein soup will help you feel full to avoid snacking in the afternoon. Obviously peanut butter is high in fat however our natural peanut butter is high in mono-unsaturated fats which in moderation forms part of a healthy lifestyle. The soup is packed full of fresh vegetables including lemongrass which helps detoxify to liver, pancreas and kidney.

Good morning everyone,

Today’s salad of the day is the..

Smoked Mackerel Kedgeree

This will be the last salad in the 2 week healthy eating programme (however it doesn’t mean you should stop eating our lovely salads), we have given you a deeper insight into some of our salads, shown you their health benefits and we hope that you have enjoyed them, as well as keeping up your healthy lifestyle; you will be receiving more updates as the year unfolds of our healthy seasonal specials.

The smoked mackerel kedgeree is Chopd’s very own superstitious salad for Friday the 13th; it is packed full of flavour and texture from the eggs, smoked mackerel as well as brown rice, peas and sultanas.

Smoked mackerel is a fantastic salad for high natural fibre from the vegetables, as well as high amount’s of protein and omega 3 and 6; did you know? Omega 3 and 6 can help improve your brain function and therefore your productivity. Lastly, brown rice is present in the salad which has properties in it’s oil which can lower cholesterol.

Our smoked mackerel contains only 3 ingredients salt, mackerel and smoke. It is delivered to us by Formans another local company which has been around for over 100 years; they are a stones throw away from the 2012 Olympic stadium. Why don’t you check out how many ingredients there are in your supermarket smoked mackerel?

Bang Bang Chicken

The great people at Chop’d have given a plain chicken salad an exciting, zingy twist with this mouth watering recipe.

This salad is low in fat and high in protein; packed with lots of fresh veg and minerals, the soda noodles contain buckwheat; which can lower blood pressure and cholesterol. The salad contains mint which promotes digestion, due to its typical aroma. Mint is very effective in opening up congestion of the nose, throat, lungs and most importantly eradicates bad breath!!!

Did you know? That our chicken is from a single farm in essex, roasted whole on the bone in stratford with no salt or preservatives. They are then hand picked and delivered fresh to our stores daily. It is part of our commitment to use high quality, local natural ingredients.

Why not pick up a bottle of one water from the fridge? It is entirely sourced from One spring in Powys, Wales and all profit funds water solutions in Africa.
